Jacob Waltenbaugh (1859 or 1860-1932)* was the son of Isaac and Sarah (Baer) Waltenbaugh.

On the 1880 census, about the time this picture was taken, Jacob was a laborer in Kittanning Township. He was living at home on the farm with his parents and his siblings William, Ellen M., Hannah, John, Daniel and David.

Around 1883 he married Catherine Schall, and they became the parents of Robert, Edith, Sadie, Charles and John Waltenbaugh.

* His death certificate lists his birth year as 1859, but his gravestone gives his birth year as 1860.
