Margaret Jane (Ambrose) DeLancey, older daughter of Joseph Ritner and Margaret (Dougherty) Ambrose, as an adult. This picture is undated. Its photographer's mark is W.S. Otto, Kittanning, PA.

Maggie was born in 1873, probably on the farm in East Franklin Township, so she was just a baby when the family moved to Cowanshannock in 1874. In 1896 she married John C. DeLancey, a Plumville farmer. She and John had three children: Olive (1897-1995), Ray (1899-1974) and Mae (1901-1976).

Maggie was a member of the Rural Valley Presbyterian Church and later of the Plumville Presbyterian Church.

She died in 1906 when she was only 33 years old. She is buried next to John and his second wife in the Rural Valley Cemetery.
